Recap of our first Women’s Doubles Badminton Competition!

Forum Group, in partnership with Dynamite Women’s Badminton Club, successfully organized a team event badminton competition, which took place in Setia Alam in March, in conjunction with International Women’s Day. This event was an amazing opportunity for all women to come together, share their love for badminton, and make new friends. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants and sponsors for making this event a huge success. We’re already looking forward to the next competition!

Here are the details of our inaugural Competition 🏸

Date: 5 March 2023 (Sunday)
Time: 9.00am (Registration) | 10.00am – 6pm (Match)
Venue: Forum SBA, Setia Alam
Format: Team Event of 3 Pairs per Team. Participants can register as a Pair or as a Team. Participants who register as a Pair will be placed with other Pairs to form a Team.
Registration Fee: RM120 per pair / RM360 per team
Prize Money: 🥇 RM800 |🥈 RM500 | 🥉 RM300
Goodies: FREE T-shirt & goodie bag for each participant

Competition Format (Updated as of 4 Mar 2023)

9am: Registration
– Please present your ICs to verify that you’re indeed a human and collect your goodie bags
– You’ll be given forms to fill in names of players for round robin matches. Please then proceed to the umpire table to submit these forms
– You’re free to use the courts until 9.40am

9.40am: Group Warm-Up
– Fun warm up session together-gether (Lead by TAGS)
– Please wear the nice shirt in the goodie bag for group photography session

10.00am: Competition Begins!
– Round robin matches start

  • Teams will be split into Groups
  • At Group Stage, teams will accumulate points by playing 30-point match on round-robin basis. Each win will constitute 1 point. In the event of a tie in terms of points accumulated, the Organizers will look into the cumulative game points collected to determine the winner.
  • Top 2 teams of each Group in terms of accumulated points will enter the Quarter-Finals.
  • Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals will be a 30-point match.

Terms & Conditions (Updated as of 15 Feb 2023)

  1. Competition is open exclusively for Women’s Doubles category.
  2. Current national and state players and ex national players are not allowed to participate. Each Team may have a maximum of 1 ex state player with a minimum cooling period of 2 years.
  3. Registration is limited to 16 Teams and is open to all ages.
  4. Registration Period is from 31/01/2023 to 25/02/2023.
  5. Registrations received after the Registration Period will not be entertained.
  6. Any changes to registration after the Registration Period is strictly not allowed.
  7. Participants’ registration is only considered as “confirmed” upon complete submission of the Registration Form and full payment of the Registration Fee.
  8. Registration Fees are non-refundable.
  9. No protest before, during or after the competition shall be entertained in any way.
  10. Players who don’t show up within 5 minutes of scheduled time will be considered as giving a walkover.
  11. If a player retires from the competition because of injury or any other unavoidable cause, her whole team will be regarded as having retired from the competition. No reserved players or repeated players are allowed. This is in line with the common practice applied in general badminton team event competitions.
  12. If a player sustains minor injury during her match, she has to stay and complete the match in order to qualify her team for point collection and/or to move to the next match / round. This is not considered a retirement. Said player can still participate in the next match / round after sufficient rest or given necessary treatment.
  13. The Organisers reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time, without prior notice.
  14. The Organisers reserve the right to use any photographs and video recordings of the event including those of the participants for publicity and advertising purposes.
  15. The Organisers shall not be liable for any losses, damages, or injuries sustained by participants during the competition.
